Ingrid began sailing at the Oakville Yacht Squadron (OYS) on her family boat, and soon began sailing school at OYS. She completed her Gold sailing level at OYS and then took her sailing to the next level and joined the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. She began training as a member of the High Performance Team. During this time she also became a member of the Ontario Sailing Team and was a 2006 recipient of ‘Quest For Gold’ Funding. Ingrid also plays rugby and downhill skiing in the off-season.
